The Signature Apparel of Asia – Indian Salwar Kameez!

Shalwar kameez, also spelled salwar kameez or shalwar qameez, is a traditional outfit originating in the Indian subcontinent.It is a generic term used to describe different styles of dress. The shalwar kameez can be worn by both men and women, but styles differ by gender.

Material used in making of salwar kameez:

Salwar kameez and dupatta can be made of various kinds of materials depending on choice and occasions. Salwar Kameez can be made from silk, organza, cotton silk, velvet, georgette, net, brocade, bandhani, cotton fabrics. The dupatta is generally made from light weighted and wavy fabric.

Types of Salwar Kameez:

Salwar Kameez, now a days comes in various kinds of forms. Females used to do fusions with salwar kameez. Traditional salwar kameez are like chudidar dress, anarkali dress, sharara suit, palazzo suit, patiyala suit and so on. In fusions females used to tied up this salwar kameez with jackets, pants, peplum top and so on. Let us have a look at different types of salwar kameez.

Anarkali Style Salwar kameez:

Anarkali Shalwar suit is a form of women’s dress originating from the city of Lahore in Pakistan. The Anarkali suit is made up of a long, frock-style top and features a slim fitted bottom. The Anarkali suit varies in many different lengths and embroideries including floor-length Anarkali styles.
